New Craggs Lab Members – A Muddy Initiation

This academic year brings four more members to the Craggs lab. We have a new PhD student, Alice, who is starting work on an exciting project studying the conformational dynamics of aberrant nucleic acids. Anna has joined us from Fontys University in the Netherlands for 5 months, working on a TCSPC anisotropy set-up, and we have two MChem students doing their final year projects in the lab – Callum and Becky.

With the peak district on our doorstep our first lab social of the year was a ramble round Agden Reservoir. Despite the flooding we (mostly) managed to keep our feet dry, and navigating round the mud proved to be great for team building! We were rewarded for our efforts with a pub lunch and a beautiful sunset over the valley.

All good walks end at the pub!
